Xavier had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Hand on Monday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Xavier took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-13.

Bennett Chiappetta paced Xavier's offense, picking up 15 kills. Chiappetta got some help from Elijah Barnhart and his 26 assists. Chiappetta was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Xavier's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Hand, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
