Baseball Recap: Weaver Falls to West End in First Game of Season

Weaver kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the West End Patriots, falling 13-6.

Demarion Whelch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Hyatt, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Coming up, Weaver will head out to face off against Ashville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West End, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Appalachian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
