Preview: Oxbridge Academy vs. Chaminade-Madonna
Chaminade-Madonna (10-2) and Oxbridge Academy (10-1) are battling to keep their seasons alive when they face off in a playoff match this Saturday at 10:00 AM. Oxbridge Academy is skipping in on a ten-game winning streak; likewise, Chaminade-Madonna rolls in with nine consecutive wins.
Two weeks ago, Chaminade-Madonna took on Clearwater Central Catholic. Chaminade-Madonna got off to a good start with a 28-point offensive effort in the first half. That gave them a 28 - 3 advantage at the half. The defense contributed as well, holding Clearwater Central Catholic to zero points in the second half. In the end, Chaminade-Madonna steamrollered its way to an easy 49 - 3 victory.
As for Oxbridge Academy, it has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling eight) after its most recent game. Everything went its way against Florida State University two weeks ago as it secured a 41 - 0 win. Junior Charles (gio) Richardson deserves a lot of the credit as he threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns. Richardson has been a consistent playmaker for Oxbridge Academy as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him. Additional support came from senior Herman C. mccray iv, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 12 tackles.
These are two of the top teams in the nation (Chaminade-Madonna is ranked 79th, Oxbridge Academy 144th), so it should shape up to be an exciting match.
