Softball Recap: West Davidson Dragons vs. Wheatmore Warriors
West Davidson gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the Wheatmore Warriors by a score of 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-6 last Friday.
Wheatmore's batters probably weren't too happy with Hannah Rollins, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up seven walks). Furthermore, Rollins didn't allow a single hit, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Gracie Michael was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Meghan Leonard, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Michael wasn't the only one working in the hit department: West Davidson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheatmore didn't got any hits.

The victory got West Davidson back to even at 3-3. As for Wheatmore, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Davidson will take on North Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Stanly's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so West Davidson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wheatmore, they will challenge Randleman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
