Recap: Western Guilford Hornets vs. Ragsdale Tigers
The Western Guilford Hornets had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Ragsdale 64-63 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western Guilford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leila Henderson, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Henderson pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Star Hughes, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Western Guilford's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Ragsdale, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Western Guilford will be playing at home against Northwest Guilford at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Guilford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Western Guilford in North Carolina (Northwest Guilford is ranked 106th, while Western Guilford is ranked 334th). As for Ragsdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Northern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northern Guilford is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
