Baseball Game Preview: Oxnard Yellowjackets vs. Canyon Cowboys

The Oxnard Yellowjackets will square off against the Canyon Cowboys at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Oxnard has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Oxnard turned things around against Fillmore on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Flashes a 1-0 shutout.

Oxnard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerry Gonzales, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Oxnard hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fillmore struck out 11 times.

Meanwhile, Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-4 to Hart.

Oxnard's win bumped their record up to 10-17. As for Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-23.
