Basketball Recap: Falls Church Jaguars vs. Hayfield Hawks
Falls Church was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Hayfield Hawks 78-34. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Hawks are ranked 30th).
Hayfield found their leader in sophomore Tyson Washington, who posted 11 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Washington a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Payne, who put up six points and six assists.
Falls Church's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Hayfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
