Recap: Colusa RedHawks vs. Live Oak Lions
The Colusa RedHawks came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 71-29 win over Live Oak on the road. With Colusa ahead 45-13 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Leading Colusa to victory were Landon Humphrey and Isaiah Travis. Humphrey scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Travis scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Humphrey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jace Mackaben, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Colusa is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Live Oak, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colusa will challenge Pierce at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pierce will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1207th, while Colusa is ranked 543rd). As for Live Oak, they will head out on the road to face off against Willows at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willows is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
