Basketball Recap: Turpin Comes Up Short

Turpin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Winton Woods Warriors 58-16. The Spartans lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-45 score last time.

Turpin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Josie Carrelli, who posted six points, and Amor Haynes, who put up no points. That was a full 37.5% of Turpin's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Turpin's record now sits at 0-13. As for Winton Woods, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Turpin will take on Lebanon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winton Woods, they will face off against Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Winton Woods knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Walnut Hills likes a good challenge.
