Salpointe Catholic piles up the points against Rio Rico

The Salpointe Catholic Lancers came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Rio Rico at home to the tune of 99-23. With Salpointe Catholic ahead 59-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Salpointe Catholic found their leader in underclassman Ben Aronson, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists. Omar Rasul was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Salpointe Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Rio Rico, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Salpointe Catholic will face off against Brophy College Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rio Rico won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Flowing Wells is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
