Basketball Recap: Kent Island Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Kent Island can now relate to. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkside Rams on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-44 back in February.

RonNie White was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 22 points. Those 22 points gave her a new career-high. Zion Oge was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Kent Island's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points on average over those games. As for Parkside, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Kent Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Parkside has already played their next contest (against Westlake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
