Baseball Recap: Blue River Valley Takes a Loss

Northeastern hit Blue River Valley with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost seven in a row.

Blue River Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was EVAN ZENTZ, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. EVAN BLACKBURN was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Blue River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Northeastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Blue River Valley will be playing at home against Muncie Burris at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northeastern, they will head out to face off against Franklin County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
