Softball Recap: Poynette Has No Trouble Against Monona Grove

Poynette came out on top against Monona Grove on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Pumas blew past the Silver Eagles 12-1. Considering the Pumas have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Poynette and bumps their season record up to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Monona Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Poynette will head out on the road to face off against Pacelli at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pumas 2.1, the Cardinals 1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Monona Grove, they will take on Beaver Dam at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
