Basketball Recap: Gering Skates Past Alliance with Ease

After losing to Alliance the last time they met, Gering decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Gering Bulldogs took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 52-22 win over the Alliance Bulldogs. Gering pushed the score to 44-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Alliance cut but never quite recovered from.

Gering was led to victory by Jacelyn Brown and Jacey Cochran. Brown went 5 for 11 on her way to 16 points and four steals, while Cochran posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Todd, who put up seven points.

Gering was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alliance only posted three assists.

Gering didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-66 defeat against Sidney on the 7th. As for Alliance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 38-15 loss against Mitchell on the 7th.
