Football Game Preview: Benton Panthers vs. Greenwood Bulldogs + Official Tickets

Benton is 2-7 against Greenwood since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Panthers will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Benton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Benton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-49 victory over Mountain Home.

Meanwhile, Greenwood blew past Jonesboro, posting a 59-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by 32 points or more so far this season.

Benton better keep an eye on Kane Archer. He was instrumental in Greenwood's win, rushing for 154 yards and four TDs on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 305 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Champ Davis, who gained 198 total yards and three touchdowns.

Greenwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 231 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Greenwood's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Bryer Hackler was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last five games he's played. Greenwood got some further help from Jin Sayadeth: he picked up a sack, made 13 total tackles, and defended one pass.

Benton's record now sits at 9-2. As for Greenwood, their record is now 11-0.

Benton came up short against Greenwood in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 31-24. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
