Softball Preview: West Union Eagles vs. Lafayette Commodores
The West Union Eagles will face off against the Lafayette Commodores at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games West Union has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
West Union took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Houston, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Lafayette made sure to put some runs up on the board against Biloxi on Wednesday. Lafayette blew past Biloxi 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Sydney Cregar made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Cregar was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Lafayette let Avery Lewis and Mary Madison Kelley run wild. Lewis scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Kelley scored a run while going 2-for-3.
