Baseball Recap: Valley Lutheran Comes Up Short

Valley Lutheran lost against Hemlock back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chargers fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 8-7. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Axel Schuette was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Tyler Belt-Captain also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Valley Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Hemlock, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Coming up, Valley Lutheran will be playing at home against Nouvel Catholic Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hemlock, they will face off against Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
