Softball Recap: Stony Point Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Stony Point dropped their record down to 19-9-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They fell 4-0 to Dripping Springs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Dripping Springs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.

As for Dripping Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Dripping Springs' part, not much got past Tatum Green, who gave up just five hits to keep Stony Point off the board. Green has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dripping Springs let Jai-Lynn Flores and Sadie Bradford run wild. Flores got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, while Bradford went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lorelei Gamble, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances.

While Stony Point had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
