Calhoun piles up the points against Dallas County

Recap: Calhoun Tigers vs. Dallas County Hornets

The Calhoun Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Dallas County 58-31 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Calhoun has managed all season.

Leading Calhoun to victory were Kamelia Hunter and Layla Gary. Hunter dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Gary scored 20 points along with five steals. Gary continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rachel Ray, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

The victory was the third in a row for Calhoun, bringing their record for this year to 7-10. As for Dallas County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Central at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Central is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Dallas County, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilcox Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
