Softball Game Preview: Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts vs. Beechwood Tigers

The Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts are taking a road trip to take on the Beechwood Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lloyd Memorial has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Scott hit Lloyd Memorial with a seven-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Juggernauts came up short against the Eagles, falling 15-6. While the Juggernauts didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 4-0 in the first period.

Izzy Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Railynn Brown was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Beechwood got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Holmes a 16-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lloyd Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Beechwood, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-9.

Everything went Lloyd Memorial's way against Beechwood when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Lloyd Memorial made off with a 21-6 victory. Do the Juggernauts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
