Baseball Recap: Spencer Center Takes a Loss

Spencer Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gamble Montessori Gators, falling 18-6.

Jay Wilfong was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Alex McNeill was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Spencer Center's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Gamble Montessori, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spencer Center will take on Riverview East Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Spencer Center's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Gamble Montessori, they will face off against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Gators' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
