Volleyball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis lost against Colby back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Indians fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-15 in the first set.

St. Francis actually scored more points across those three sets (67-66), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-18, 26-24.

St. Francis dropped their record down to 6-22-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Colby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-17.

St. Francis and Colby could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. The Indians will face off against Lone Star at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (302 vs. 130). Meanwhile, Colby (ranked 215th) will meet Goodland (ranked 67th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
