Volleyball Recap: Seaforth Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Naomi Stevenson and Isabelle Valgus + How To Watch

After flying high against South Granville on Tuesday, Seaforth came back down to earth. The Hawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orange Panthers on Thursday. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Seaforth started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-12.

Isabelle Valgus and Naomi Stevenson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Valgus had 16 digs and two assists, while Stevenson had 14 kills, 13 digs, and four aces. Stevenson is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least seven every time she's taken the court this season.

Addison Guentensberger had a dynamite game For Orange., getting 14 digs and three aces.

With the defeat, Seaforth broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 13-7. As for Orange, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Seaforth and Orange should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Hawks (ranked 51st) will meet J.F. Webb (ranked 352nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Orange will square off against South Granville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (85 vs. 280).
