HALIFAX, N.C. -
Lejeune (Camp Lejeune, N.C.) snapped the five-game winning streak of
Southeast Halifax (Halifax, N.C.), with a 33-8 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Devil Pups led 19-7 at the half.
Lejeune expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
The Camp Lejeune school put up 19 points in the second quarter en route to the win. The Devil Pups scored on a rushing touchdown, a touchdown run and a passing touchdown in the quarter.
Southeast Halifax's only touchdown came on a 4-yard run by
Jaquez McDaniel in the second quarter.
Lejeune went into the matchup giving up only 14.2 points per game.
The loss comes after Southeast Halifax defeated KIPP Pride 42-30 last week.
Southeast Halifax (9-5) goes up against Rocky Mount Prep in a playoff game matchup next week, while Lejeune (13-1) locks horns with Northwest Halifax also in a playoff game.
