Softball Recap: Camden Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Pointe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Camden). They were the clear victors by a 24-9 margin over the South Pointe Stallions on Thursday. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Haydin Williams was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Maddie Stokes was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5.

Camden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .533 that South Pointe posted.

The victory was the third in a row for Camden, bringing their record up to 5-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Pointe, their defeat was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Camden didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-6 victory against Lancaster on the 1st. As for South Pointe, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-11 loss against Richland Northeast on the 1st.
