Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Academy Warriors vs. CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks

The Legacy Academy Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Legacy Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Gospel Light Christian on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Lions 58-52. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Legacy Academy might have lost, but man, Oaklee Lofton was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 31 points and 16 boards. Lofton's evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Skylar Alexander, who posted 14 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, CHAAMP HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 54-35 fall against East Texas Homeschool Sports.

Legacy Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Legacy Academy beat CHAAMP HomeSchool 56-47 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
