Basketball Recap: Century Takes a Loss

Century was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 42-21 to the Mount de Sales Academy Sailors . While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Sailors are ranked 36th).

Mount de Sales Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Conley, who posted 17 points. What's more, Conley also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Katie Carroll was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Century's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Century will face off against Atholton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will challenge St. John's Catholic Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
