Recap: Evans Knights vs. Lakeside Panthers

The Evans Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 59-29 loss at the hands of Lakeside. Evans has not had much luck with Lakeside recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the loss, Evans had strong showings from Kimariya Hinton, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and two steals, and Makya Wicker, who scored seven points along with three steals. Hinton is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Evans struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lakeside racked up 11 assists.

Asunti Porter was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five steals for Lakeside. That makes it six consecutive games in which Porter has scored at least a third of Lakeside's points. Elise Graybill was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.

Evans has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Lakeside, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Evans won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Effingham at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to square off against Grovetown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grovetown will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
