Basketball Recap: O'connor's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

O'Connor had won four straight games and Audrey Bhesania did her part to make it five on Wednesday. The O'Connor Eagles managed a 61-57 win over the Pinnacle Pioneers thanks in part to Bhesania, who went 12 of 18 on her way to 29 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was her eighth in a row with at least ten points.

Ava Schooler also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Despite the loss, Pinnacle had strong showings from Norah Moo, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, and Rylee Fraley, who went 7 for 14 en route to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Shishawna Begay was another key player, putting up 12 points.

O'Connor is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Pinnacle, they moved to 15-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

O'Connor will head out on the road to face off against Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Pinnacle, they will be playing at home against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinnacle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.
