Softball Recap: Hartland Comes Up Short

If Hartland was feeling good fresh off their 15-3 takedown of Fenton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Howell Highlanders on Wednesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Kaitlyn Brennan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Dunny, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Hartland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1. As for Howell, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 21-11-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hartland beat the Highlanders by a score of 8-7 later that day.
