Basketball Recap: Foster Comes Up Short

Foster lost against Alief Taylor back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Foster Falcons took a 56-42 bruising from the Alief Taylor Lions. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Lions are ranked 50th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alief Taylor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nataliyah Gray, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Gray has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. Madison Bush-Lewis was another key player, going 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Foster is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14. As for Alief Taylor, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Foster didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-56 defeat against Alief Hastings on the 10th. As for Alief Taylor, they will look to defend their home court on January 14th against George Ranch at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Alief Taylor's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home while George Ranch has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
