Soccer Game Preview: Rubidoux vs. La Sierra

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Rubidoux face off against the La Sierra at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Rubidoux's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Rubidoux's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ramona on Thursday.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, La Sierra was not quite Norte Vista's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 749th, while the Braves are ranked 316th).

La Sierra's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Rubidoux, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-1.

Rubidoux took their victory against La Sierra when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 4-0. Does Rubidoux have another victory up their sleeve, or will La Sierra turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
