Recap: Iowa Park Hawks vs. Vernon Lions
If The Iowa Park Hawks were feeling good off their 48-14 takedown of the Bowie Jackrabbits last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Iowa Park's tough 48-27 loss to Vernon on Friday might stick with them for a while. Iowa Park was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vernon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Iowa Park's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Parker Allen, who rushed for 126 yards, and also threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Carter Sales was in the mix as well, providing Iowa Park with two touchdowns.
Iowa Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Vernon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Iowa Park will take on Clyde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clyde is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Vernon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jim Ned at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jim Ned is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
