Basketball Game Preview: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Harrison Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Vista Ridge Wolves and the Harrison Panthers will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Vista Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Vista Ridge turned things around against Poudre last Saturday. They walked away with a 53-40 win over the Impalas.

Ben Arnold was a one-man wrecking crew for Vista Ridge as he posted 23 points. The dominant performance gave Arnold a new career-high in points. Quentin Maldonado was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Harrison managed to keep up with Discovery Canyon until halftime two weeks ago, but things quickly went downhill from there. Harrison might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Discovery Canyon an easy 52-26 victory. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Vista Ridge will need focus on slowing down Dylan Arocho, one of several Harrison players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Harrison and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Vista Ridge, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

Vista Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Harrison in their previous meeting back in December of 2015, winning 61-50. Will Vista Ridge repeat their success, or does Harrison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
