Football Game Preview: Wellborn Panthers vs. Piedmont Bulldogs + How To Watch

Wellborn is 1-8 against Piedmont since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Panthers will host the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wellborn beat Locust Fork 54-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Piedmont). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Weaver 69-21. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 40 points or more this season.

Wellborn better keep an eye on Nick Mixson. He was instrumental in Piedmont's win, rushing for 123 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Austin, who threw for 105 yards and three TDs on only nine passes.

Piedmont's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Wellborn, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
