Softball Game Preview: Kennett Indians vs. Graves County Eagles

The Kennett Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Graves County Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

Kennett couldn't beat Valley View on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Indians fell 7-4 to the Blazers. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Blazers: they've now lost three in a row.

Avery Payne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Handley McAtee, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Graves County came up short against Marshall County on Monday, falling 8-2.

Graves County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-14-1. As for Kennett, their loss dropped their record down to 24-7.

Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kennett hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .422. However, it's not like Graves County struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
