            Basketball Recap: Riverton Parke Panthers vs. North Vermillion Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            Riverton Parke was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight  loss. They took a hard  74-58 fall against the North Vermillion Falcons. The Panthers were down  63-40 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

 Despite the  defeat, Riverton Parke saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Jonah Hopkins  went 9-for-15  to rack up 24 points. Hopkins is also on a roll when it comes to  shooting accuracy, as he's  posted one of at least 46% in the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Ben Todd, who  posted six  points.
 North Vermillion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Teagan Leonard led the charge by  going 8-for-17  en route to 24 points and five  assists.  Matthew Dawson was another key player,  dropping  a double-double with 12  points and 24  boards.
Riverton Parke's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for North Vermillion, their record is now 14-6.
 Looking ahead,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as  the Panthers  take on  the Cougars at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Riverton Parke is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5  points per game  this season. As for North Vermillion, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game,  a  63-60  victory against Benton Central on the 15th.
