Football Recap: Warren County Falls to Morgan County in First Game of Season

Warren County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Morgan County Bulldogs 56-13 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Screaming Devils of the 48-16 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Morgan County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Monfort, who rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Monfort a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was Davis Strickland, who threw for 191 yards and three TDs.

Warren County has already played their next contest, a 35-8 defeat against Social Circle on the 22nd. As for Morgan County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 46-14 victory against Putnam County on the 22nd.
