Baseball Recap: Southern Huntingdon County Comes Up Short

Southern Huntingdon County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs. If the Rockets were looking for revenge after losing 10-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Southern Huntingdon County saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Berrier, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double. Another was Caden Miller, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Southern Huntingdon County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Huntingdon County will welcome West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fannett Metal at 6:00 p.m. Fannett Metal's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Claysburg-Kimmel's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
