Softball Recap: Medway Mustangs vs. Bellingham Blackhawks        
        
		
            
 Medway had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Bellingham Blackhawks 13-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Medway also won the last time the pair played  back in May of 2022.
  Ava Fahey spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Katie Anderson and  Nina Pacella did most of the damage at the plate:  Anderson  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with a  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Pacella  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Allyson Fagan, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-5.
 On Bellingham's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jacobi Houston, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Bellingham  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Medway only tossed six.
 Medway will be playing in front of their home fans against Dedham at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Bellingham, they will head out on the road to  take on  Dover-Sherborn at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
