Basketball Recap: Odessa-Montour Takes a Loss

Odessa-Montour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 53-39 to the Dundee/Bradford Central BraveScots. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while the BraveScots are ranked 219th).

Dundee/Bradford Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremy Stiles, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Stiles a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Alex Goltry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Odessa-Montour's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Dundee/Bradford Central, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Odessa-Montour has already played their next match (against Dundee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dundee/Bradford Central will take on South Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Seneca will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Dundee/Bradford Central surely won't give up without a fight.
