Preview: Rockwall Yellowjackets vs. North Forney Falcons
The Rockwall Yellowjackets will look to defend their home field on Friday against the North Forney Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rockwall comes in on five and North Forney on six.
Even though Royse City scored an imposing 37 points on Friday, Rockwall still came out on top. Rockwall blew past Royse City 63-37. Given Rockwall's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Royse City is ranked 227th), the result wasn't exactly an upset.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Ashten Emory and Tyreke Cockroft. Emory had a great game and rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Meanwhile, Cockroft was balling out in the loss, rushing for 170 yards while picking up 8.1 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, North Forney earned a 33-26 victory over Royse City two Fridays ago.
North Forney's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaquarian Robinson led the charge by picking up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Robinson's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Kellen Sanders, who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Rockwall to 6-1 and North Forney to 6-0.
Everything came up roses for Rockwall against North Forney when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 63-14 victory. Does Rockwall have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Forney turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
