The Riverside Beavers will take on the Lake Blue Streaks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Riverside gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Mayfield. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Beavers.

Ethan Hay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Riverside's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Riverside's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lelynd Chapman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Austin Kalb was another, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Lake didn't have quite enough to beat McKinley on Wednesday and fell 2-1.
McKinley's batters probably weren't too happy with Noah Kubasky, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up three walks). Kubasky has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Riverside's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both Riverside and Lake just can't seem to miss. The Beavers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
