Basketball Game Preview: Keswick Christian Crusaders vs. Canterbury Crusaders

Keswick Christian is 8-2 against Canterbury since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Keswick Christian Crusaders will face off against the Canterbury Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Keswick Christian will head into Thursday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 41-point drubbing they dealt Bayshore Christian on Thursday. Keswick Christian took their game with ease, bagging a 53-12 victory over Bayshore Christian. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Faith Warriors are ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Robyn Cantwell, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 13 points and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Leah Celosse was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Canterbury had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Lakeside Christian with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 39-21. The win was familiar territory for the Crusaders who have now won eight matches in a row.

Canterbury's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Keswick Christian, they have also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Keswick Christian against Canterbury in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, as the team secured a 58-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Keswick Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
