Basketball Game Preview: Horeb Christian Mustangs vs. Cristo Rey Monarchs

Horeb Christian is a perfect 4-0 against Cristo Rey since November of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mustangs will welcome the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses dating back to last season for Horeb Christian and eight for Cristo Rey dating back to last season.

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Horeb Christian faced off against Calusa Prep on Monday. The Mustangs took a blow against the Colts, falling 92-41.

Meanwhile, Cristo Rey played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 72-21 loss at the hands of Mater Biscayne Academy. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-14.

Horeb Christian will have to contain Abran Hernandez as he made an impact in Cristo Rey's last game. He posted 12 points.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Horeb Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Horeb Christian strolled past Cristo Rey in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 80-63. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Monarchs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
