Football Recap: Selma Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Selma gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They managed a 24-20 victory over the Park Crossing Thunderbirds. That's more bragging rights for the Saints, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Selma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samarion Woods, who rushed for 127 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 133 yards and two TDs. Those 127 rushing yards gave Woods a new career-high. Robert Lytle was another key rusher, rushing for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Selma will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southside at 7:00 p.m. As for Park Crossing, they will venture away from home to face off against Bullock County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
