The Covenant is a perfect 7-0 against Roanoke Catholic since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Celtics at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
The Covenant is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 28-4 margin over Eastern Mennonite on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jonathan Albert was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Latham Clark was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Reese, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.
The Covenant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Roanoke Catholic can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Jefferson Christian Academy a 14-0 shutout. The Celtics' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.
Noah Peck was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Mason Williams was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
The Covenant pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Roanoke Catholic, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-12.
Roanoke Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: The Covenant has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Roanoke Catholic, though, as they've only averaged .332. Will they be able to contain The Covenant's hitters?
