Softball Recap: Boaz Finds Home Field Redemption Against Douglas

There's no place like home for Boaz, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let the Douglas Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

The result came thanks to Grier Maples's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Rhoden, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Boaz's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Douglas, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
