Baseball Game Preview: Wake Forest Cougars vs. J.H. Rose Rampants

The Wake Forest Cougars will head out on the road to take on the J.H. Rose Rampants at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Wake Forest earned a 10-5 win over Leesville Road. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Pride recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Kellen Rogers, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ethan Brittain was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, J.H. Rose got the win against Farmville Central on Wednesday by a conclusive 11-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rampants.

Parker Simo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Andrew Knight-Hyatt was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Watson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Wake Forest's record is now 2-0. As for J.H. Rose, their record is now an identical 2-0.
