Recap: Jackson Central Merry Cougars vs. Jackson South Side Hawks
The Jackson Central Merry Cougars lost against the Jackson South Side Hawks back in January of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Jackson Central Merry suffered a tough 48-22 loss at the hands of Jackson South Side. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jackson Central Merry in their matchups with Jackson South Side: they've now lost five in a row.
Jackson South Side found their leader in underclassman Ri'Kiya Mitchell, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 6 steals. Mitchell hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidynn Askins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Jackson Central Merry's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jackson South Side, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Jackson Central Merry will be playing in front of their home fans against Haywood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson South Side is on the road again on Saturday and play against Wayne County at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th.
